Getting married in the most elegant site on the Amalfi Coast! Ravello can be the perfect frame to a lavish and intimate ceremony facing the blue sea. This picturesque village can be defined as the ultimate Hollywood destination wedding location.
The Town of Ravello
The Amalfi Coast’s villa-lined hills and glistening beaches are beautiful from any angle, but hovering at 2,000 feet, Ravello’s view is by far the most spectacular one.
Perched high on a hilltop overlooking the Coast, Ravello is a medieval village full of winding cobblestone streets, fragrant gardens and breathtaking views of the Mediterranean. Ravello is perfectly situated in the middle of the Amalfi Coast, just uphill from the town of Amalfi, where a ferry will take you to Positano or Capri. Ravello remains a small town of winding stone lanes and large historic mansions that sit behind stone fences in their orchards.
Richard Wagner was inspired to compose classical music in Ravello. Every year the town hosts a spectacular summer music festival with great artists. Classical music concerts are held in July in the gardens of Villa Rufolo.
The impressive Duomo of Ravello with its bronze doors and the two exquisite marble pulpits that face each other across the nave, adorned with precious mosaics, is not to be missed; there is also a very interesting museum in the crypt. But most people visit Ravello for its two very famous villas, Villa Rufolo and Villa Cimbrone.
Unlike the busy towns on the coast that have a frantic vibe of tourism and sightseeing, Ravello maintains an air of aristocratic elegance where people come to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the sea.
